Karisse G is a hip-hop and R&B artist from Edmonton, Canada, building melodic records around ambition, loyalty, growth, and real-life experience.
The Beginning
Karisse G’s connection to music started before he ever stepped into a recording booth. His father was a recognized figure in Edmonton’s local music scene, promoting artists and putting together shows. At home, the soundtrack was just as wide: gospel from his grandmother, old pop from his grandparents, R&B from his mother, and hip-hop from every direction.
At 15, Karisse recorded his first song at a friend’s house. It was not polished, but it gave him the freedom to say what he wanted exactly how he wanted to say it. That feeling stayed.
Jamaica Changed the Writing
Not long after, a trip to Jamaica became a turning point. Because he was younger, he stayed home while everyone else went out. With time to himself, he started writing. The songs were still early, but the message was always clear. That period taught him that songwriting could be more than rhymes; it could organize emotion, memory, and ambition.

Raised in West Edmonton, Karisse began shaping a sound influenced by melodic rap, R&B, and the music his family shared with him. His records live between late-night emotion, street detail, and a constant focus on growth.
He began releasing music publicly in 2020. UNFORGOTTEN became a key moment, proving that the story, catalogue, and identity could all connect.

Behind much of the sound is Seriously Taylor, Karisse’s best friend, producer, and engineer. Their relationship is closer to two people building the same world from different sides of the studio. That trust gives the records their consistency.
